Iguana bar has a long history of being one of the best entertainment bars – now serving real, cask-conditioned ale – in Manchester.
The venue, which celebrated its eleventh anniversary in October 2010, caters for all tastes; plays host to a diverse range of entertainers from many genres including Jazz, Acoustic, Reggae, Latin, Poetry and Folk. It showcases artists from around the globe, and regularly features in both local and regional press.

Iguana has given many performers a launching place for their careers, and established artists still sometimes drop by for unanounced warm-up spots before embarking on major tours. A recent success is soul singer and Iguana regular Kristyna Myles, who was signed to Decca Records in a five album deal in the summer of 2010.

Iguana prides itself on having a long history of being at the forefront of promoting live entertainment South Manchester. Over more than a decade the venue has earned a reputation for providing a platform to launch and nurture local talent, as well as playing host to visiting acts from all over the world. The bar’s intimate surroundings and diversity of live performances have always attracted a discerning crowd of music lovers, and adding stand-up comedy to the bill has given Iguana even wider appeal.

This is a venue with a rich history, founded by a man with a genuine passion for music, who really cares about the acts who play on his stage. Indeed, it’s not uncommon for Pascal, himself an accomplished musician, to join in with some bands, and play along on his bouzouki.

Past artists have included: Alan Carr, Krystina Myles, Hannah Atkins, Roy Walker, Archy Campbell, Smug Roberts, Denise Johnson.

Small functions are accommodated in the snuggly red room to the rear of the bar, which offers seating for around 40 people, and is available for private hire, providing a comfortable and contemporary environment for parties and special occasions.
